Why this is the process

UK consumer law gives you statutory rights with the retailer that sold you the item. This covers a refund repair or replacement if the product is faulty or not as described.

Some retailers may refer you to a manufacturer guarantee after the first 30 days but your legal rights with the retailer still apply.

If we were to accept and refund every Halfords purchase directly, we’d be carrying another company’s costs, and we simply couldn’t stay in business for long.

This is why it is important that returns and refunds are handled by the retailer you purchased from.

Do I still need to contact Halfords if it looks like a manufacturer fault

Yes. Your contract is with Halfords so they must handle refunds repairs or replacements. Manufacturer guarantees can offer extra help but they do not replace your legal rights with the retailer.

Ask Halfords to review your claim under your statutory rights. If that does not resolve things escalate through their complaints process or seek independent advice.

What if the product caused damage or injury

Product liability claims are separate from retailer returns. If anyone has been harmed or property has been damaged seek independent advice.
